Flashback~Forget About it-Friday

The year is 1982, the artist Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I was in high school and probably had just had my heart broken for the 100th time (I was only 14, but I developed crushes easily, what can I say) when the video for this song started being played on MTV.

I remember loving You Got Lucky because I felt empowered, rather than pitiful, after listening to it.

You better watch what you say, you better watch what you do to me
If you can do better than me, go…

What songs made/make you feel empowered?

    • I am sorry to hear that. I haven’t heard any tracks off new album yet. I do know that if you buy tickets to his summer tour, you can download the album for free…

I have seen Tom Petty live three times and he never disappoints. One of the best acts I’ve seen.

  1. I love Flashback-Forget About It Fridays! I was never a big Tom petty fan, but I too had been in love 100 times by 14 and can totally relate to this.
The Stroke is one of my fave songs ever btw.
    xo

  2. Can’t say that I have a song that enpowered me, but my wife and I are going to see the Tom Petty concert in Kansas City on June 13th. I am very psyched as I’ve always enjoyed Petty and the Heartbreakers, although I have never seen him/them in concert. I’ll have to look into the free album download as we are getting the tickets through my work, and I’m not sure exactly how to make it happen – maybe a download code on the ticket? Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts.
